Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is a type of mass spectrometry used for analyzing metals and several non-metals at very low concentrations. Instrumentation in the KFLEB allows a wide range of isotopic analyses. The periodic table below gives an overview of our capabilities; please see Analyses by Instrument for more details.
ICP-MS Analyses by Instrument
Q-ICP-MS
Metals, REE, some major element concentrations in a wide variety of sample types and over a large dynamic range.
MC-ICP-MS
High-precision isotope ratio analyses of much of the periodic table; has high mass resolution to resolve polyatomic interferences from the analytes of interest.
